The stage
A stage that for many is difficult for the length. Many divide it into two parts. From Ponticelli to Montelibretti (about 12 km) and from Montelibretti to Monterotondo (about 20 km).
The first part of the route crosses olive groves and woods and often crosses the Via Salaria. In Montelibretti, a break is also worthwhile, even to admire Palazzo Barberini. Then take the Vecchia Via Nomentana and cross the Macchia di Gattaceca Nature Reserve, until you get to Monterotondo.
For water supply along the path there are bars and water springs: Poggio Corese, Acquaviva di Nerola, Montelibretti and Monterotondo.
