The week walk between the provinces of Siena and Viterbo, with 1 overnight in Gallina/Castiglione d’Orcia to divide the whole stage from San Quirico to Radicofani.
The package includes everything you need to make the undertaking memorable.
We recommend a few days of rest along the way, but extra days can be added to your liking.

A highly variable route, with easier and shorter stages, and others with decent climbs and descents.
We always recommend a few days of rest along the way. The route is very well marked and has no objective difficulties.

DAY 1: Arrival in Siena

DAY 2: Siena to Monteroni d’Arbia

Siena to Monteroni d’Arbia Distance to Cover: 18 Km Walk Time: 4/5 hours
After a short walk inside Siena, you walk the white roads of the Val d’Arbia.
Next you enter the Crete Senesi, whose name comes from the clay (creta), which is found in the soil and gives the landscape a characteristic gray-blue color.

DAY 3: Monteroni d’Arbia to Buonconvento

Monteroni d’Arbia to Buonconvento Distance to Cover: 13 Km Walk Time: 3/4 hours
After an initial flat stretch, climb the hills, on paths lined with beautiful cypress trees, and reach Buonconvento.
It is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
I recommend visiting the corso where the clock tower is located, while on the facade of the town hall you can still see the 25 coats of arms of the as many Podestas who ruled Buonconvento until 1270.

DAY 4: Buonconvento to San Quirico

Buonconvento to San Quirico Distance to Cover: 21 Km Walk Time: 5/6 hours
Leaving Buonconvento, go up the Ombrone valley and travel a section of the Cassia to Montalcino, where you admire the Brunello vineyards that cover the hillside.
Continuing along various dirt roads you arrive at the church of Santa Maria Maddalena, mentioned by Sigeric, which is located in Torreneri.
From here you enter the Val d’Orcia with a climb that reaches San Quirico.

DAY 5: San Quirico to Castiglione d’Orcia / Gallina

San Quirico to Castiglione d’Orcia / Gallina Distance to Cover: 17 Km Walk Time: 4/5 hours
Leaving San Quirico by a scenic descent overlooking the Val d’Orcia you reach the small fortified village of Bagno Vignoni, a place famous for a monumental thermal bath.
A climb takes you toward Castiglione d’Orcia, with breathtaking scenery.

DAY 5: San Quirico to Radicofani
DAY 6
Castiglione d’Orcia / Gallina to Radicofani Distance to Cover: 15 Km Walk Time: 5/6 hours
Perhaps the most challenging stage.
For the final climb that takes you up to an altitude of 780mt. It is a challenging uphill section that leads up to the Fortezza di Gino di Tacco, one of the highest in Tuscany, overlooking the Val d’Orcia.

DAY 7: Radicofani to Acquapendente

Radicofani to Acquapendente Distance to Cover: 32 Km Walk Time: 8/9 hours
This time the stage begins with a descent of 8 kilometers that takes you to Ponte a Rigo.
You enter Lazio, where you cross Centeno.
Here is the house where Galileo Galilei had stopped before going to Rome to the Pope.
You arrive in Acquapendente, a town famous for the Pugnaloni huge paintings made with flower petals

DAY 8: Acquapendente to Bolsena

Acquapendente to Bolsena Distance to Cover: 22 Km Walk Time: 6/7 hours
Start in Acquapendente with a visit to the basilica of the Holy Sepulchre and its crypt.
You arrive in San Lorenzo Nuovo a small town overlooking Lake Bolsena and offering beautiful scenery.
You reach Bolsena after a series of climbs and descents through wooded meadows, always with the lake in the background.
You cannot miss then a visit to the lakefront and the Ferris wheel.
